Nashville! A city that attracts dreamers and doers. This is a place that we explored, got a hair cut, and worked. This whole remote thing is still very new and we are still fine tuning exactly how it looks. Danielle and myself (Cat) were taking a walk around 12 South and I saw a hair salon within a consignment shop. Ryan had been talking about getting a new hair cut, so I thought, I should definitely make an appointment for him and surprise him. I ended up not sticking to the surprise-element, but he still was pumped about it! Long story short, the morning of his appointment, we were all supposed to go on a hike around Radnor Lake and then go to get Ryan’s hair cut. We had a client ask to move a call to that same morning, which meant, I needed to stay back from both activities. At first, I was pretty bummed because first, I love being outdoors first thing in the morning and second, this was Ryan’s first real haircut in many years.
It was one of those moments you have to tell yourself that the most important thing is to provide quality work no matter what in order to build lasting relationships with your clients.
In this episode, you’ll see little of me and Danielle and a lot of Ryan. Part of this trip was for Ryan to focus on working with our good friend and producer, Jon Santana, to finish some of his new music. You’ll hear a track in this episode!
On the work-front, we were all focused on a few projects that were happening the following week. We needed to wrap up a few concepts and finalize pre-production details. Justin was back at home (Norfolk) holding down the fort with a few shoots that popped up last minute. He’s a super star!
On the social-front, we had friends that escaped from Hurricane Florence that we got to explore the city with. We spent a decent amount of time at Pinewood Social during work and then to hang out. If you visit Nashville, go there! Our friend Joni was the best. She let us crash at her house during our stay there and then extended it a few days to let the hurricane pass. On our last night, we decided that each of us would pick a place to go to on Broadway. Ryan picked a dive that had the cheapest specials you can imagine and everyone was dressed in a cowboy/girl boots and hats. I chose a jazz lounge that had the best cheese plate and incredible live jazz music. Danielle chose a rooftop spot where we danced to a lot of Weezer and we were somehow the only ones that knew the songs and were dancing. We weren’t complaining!
There are so many exciting things that happen on our trips and it’s close to impossible to fit it all into an under 10 minute episode. We want to hear what you want to see more of or hear more about! Comment or send us an email to let us know your feedback!
Enjoy Episode 2!
